Err, i am not sure about this but it's definitely a system folder so avoid messing around with it unless you know what you are doing . If yu are trying to follow advice from the internet then i would try to look it up in documentation somewhere.
Please try this forum which is a specialist forum for linux's but covers a lot of different versions of linux

It might be worth popping along to
https://distrowatch.com/
to see if you recognise which of those versions of linux you are using. If you see your version listed down on the right-hand side then click on it and navigate to the "User Forums" for your version of linux. They should be able to give much better help in there.
