Low level fomat

Hello,
hi i'm paul, i want to format my hardisk but everyime i boot from biootable cd which is xp pro...when the format running it's stop format and it jump to error message after the formatting the drive or location where you format or install the operating system. I try to partition from smaller partition to bigger partition but the error still the same..can you help me guys?!!!..thanks
