Hello,

I am facing a terrible problem. My system has been infected by faantivirus and may be some more viruses and avast is unable to delete them, however,it detects them. This virus has deleted my D: drive partition (which is a data partition) and i have lost all my data which was in it( i can no more see d: drive on My Computer). Also my pendrive has this virus and even after formatting it,it is still there and not getting deleted by avast. I think my cell phone's memory card also has this virus.
I am using Windows XP service pack two.
My system configuration is P4 (2.4 Ghz) , 16 GB hdd, 128 MB RAM

Please help me out. Reply ASAP.

not having a good day are we.

I would go to this link (with the infected pc)
https://free.kaspersky.com/endoflife
run the scanner and see what it suggests.
or download this
http://devbuilds.kaspersky-labs.com/devbuilds/AVPTool/setup_7.0.0.290_31.08.2009_08-34.exe
install it on infected machine and run. (its the off line virsion i think) it uninstalls it self when done.

as for your d drive. just because it has been formatted all is not lost.

there are software out there that can retrieve data from a hdd, even a formatted one. as long as you do not write to it.

just get back to us when you've had a look at clearing the infection.
