Network Issues After XP Installation

Hello,

I have a Vista 64 bit machine that I installed XP SP2 on as a dual boot. Then I added SP3.

The drivers for the ethernet card and the wireless card are installed and working, as per Device Manager. However when I do an ipconfig /all, I see the message "Media State: Media Disconnected" for both of them.

Also, when I try to view available networks I get an error message saying that Wireless Zero Configuration is not running. When I try to start this up in the Services window, I get Error 1058 - the service cannot be started either because it is disabled or there are no enabled devices associated with it.

In the Services window, I noticed that only four or five services out of the entire list have actually been started, even though they are all set t automatic start. I enabled things like COM+ manually, but am unable to start the WZC since I still get the above error. Every time I reboot, the services must be started manually. So I suspect I have a wider problem than just the network stuff.

Any advice?

Thanks,
Leia
