SDram and DDR rams

Hello,
im having 1.6 ghz ,P4 processer with 40 gb harddisk and 256 SD ram..i wanna upgrade my computer to atlest 2 GB ram and !60 gb disk...
would i be able to hav new config on my old MOTHERBOARD!! that can SD ram be Directly replaced BY DDR or DDR2 rams without changing MOTHERBOARD?

Hi shan so for your problem is isnt possible to do that as the ram port on your motherboard is not the same for sd ram and ddr2 ram. i would advise you to change the motherboard you can keep your hard disk as well if you want you can chage it to a 60gb one. as for your processor it is a 478pins and if you buy a 775pins motherboard i will not suite either. what would suite instead is ddr1 ram for your processor but not the motherboard. the solution is that you buy a 478pins motherboard which supports ddr1 and afterwards you can add 2 ddr1 memory modules. see you..
