Itunes wont update

ive had itunes i for a while now and then it wouldnt let me down load music or buys songs unless i updated to itunes 9 but when it get about 90 percent it comes up with a errors saying it cant finish can anyone tell me why

uninstall itunes

then download the latest version from official Apple website:

https://www.apple.com/itunes/
