hp pavillion dv 9000 wont read discs.Closed

Hello,
i have a hp pavillion dv 9000 with windows xp media center edition. it will not read cd's dvd's nor will it write anything. please help it is annoying and this is a business computer for a small business opperated out of my home. I cannot afford the high prices of geek squad thanks.

try these steps:

clean the cd ,

clean the lens with a lens cleaner

and update driver firmware

i am having the same problem exept im running windows 7 ultimate 32 bit but trust me im a hughe geek when it comes to computers and this person who comented above is an idiot no offense lol but i am currently searching the world over for a fix for this stupid problem but the bottom line is hps lovely dv9000 and frankly any hp i have had contact with is nothing but a peice of junk and i will never waste my money on an hp again
