I NEED SOME HELP! T_T

Hello, I just got a new IPod that requires me to have the latest 9.0 or higher ITunes. Right now I think I have 8.2 or something. Is it possible for me to transfer the music from the 8.2 to the 9.0 one? If I can, how do I do that? (Sorry I'm not too good with this sort of thing. It's a new thing for me. ^^")
