Hello,
at system check get this warning,(secondary ide channel no80 conductor cable installed). system health ok, memory testing ok prompted to press f1 to continue, del system set up and so on... so press f1 everything is fine windows loads no prob checked in bios all drives recognised including cd on this ide channel, noprobs in device manager eg dodgy drivers ect. but when turn comp off or restart just get no signal on monitor then black screen, every time i need to reeboot need to remove and replace battery back then defaults loaded in bios checked connections but to no avail even changed ide cable no change....do you think i need to change my ide cable to an 80 pin one , any help would be most welcome.

Yes the BIOS wants a 80 wire connector. But, I don't see its connection to the subsequent problems.

Good Luck

Changing the battery can do no harm. If the system is 3 or more years old it might need changing. Please share with us the solution when you find it.
