Windows live won't uninstall

Hello,
i have a huge problem.
i have been using windows live messenger for a long time and it's all been good until now.
i can't log in because i don't have the newest version of the messenger. that's easy, i just have to install the new version but it won't let me install it. some people told me that i have to uninstall the old and just install the new one. so i went to the control panel - add remove programs and then i clicked on the remove button next to the windows live. it says i cannot uninstall it because i'm running windows in safe mode. so that's the problem, i don't know how to turn that safe mode off and just make my computer regular.
i tried almost everything.
please help me and tell me how to turn off the safe mode once and for all. cause it's been making many problems to me, not only with the windows live.
