Hello,
I have a Dell Inspiron s530 system(WinXP,2GB RAM,Dual Core).Recently I was using the system when suddenly it restarted and the fan produced a jet like sound and there wasn't any POST messages on the screen and nothing appeared on the screen. Power went through, I check RAM,clearing CMOS,checking all hardwares but to no avail.
Same problem,No beep sound to start POST,fan producing jet like noise and screen is dead (blank).
Pls. could someone throw in some idea on how i could resolve this problem and get my system up and running smoothly.
Thanks,
K

Thanks for the suggestion.
I tried doing cleaning the fan and adding silicon but to no avail. The screen still remains dead and the fan produces a jet engine like sound.
Is there a possibility of a default with the power supply.Maybe required current not going through the board and priocessor?
Any ideas????
thanks,
