hey there,
can you tell me if you can find in the device manager whether the driver for the ethernet controller is corecctly installed and have you recently updated the driver because sometimes if you have installed the driver and that its not the correct one it wont ask you for another driver but the ethernet controller might not work at all. another thing is that can you tell me if you can find the local area connection icon in the taskbar?
last thing have you checked whether the lan cable is correctly set? did you encount any problem with it before?
