Hello,
I had a sata and a ide drive connected to my PC. Bought a new Sata drive and installed xp pro on it. When I reconnected the other 2 drives, computer boots fine, instals the bios for the ide controller, and lists the ide drive connected. The problem is that the drive is not listed anywhere on the computer. Any suggestions on how to get the ide drive to show up? I really appreciate any help that can be offered

hello,

all you have to do is to enter in the bios functions and disable an option called ACPI and after that it should be ok

I went through the bios settings, and did not see anywhere to disable the ACPI. There is an ACPI configuration to change settings, I tried switching it to the other option but that did not work either. Note if I remove the new Sata drive the IDE drive is recognized. If I remove the old SATA drive and keep the new drive in, the IDE drive is not recognized.
