Hi All!

My computer won't allow me to install any saved/downloaded applications (even antiviruses). It also says that the windows task manager has been disabled by the administrator when it fact it wasn't. Another thing is that "hardware or remove program" category on control panel wouldn't open.

I have a winXP home edition sp3.

Your help is highly appreciated.

Your only solution might be to re-install Windows to clear out the virus. A computer shop will be able to backup your hard disk and do the re-install. The safest way is to remove the hard disk and copy it on another computer.

Good Luck

It's not that easy. Go ahead just delete some files.
In some cases the virus has replaced a valid Windows file with code of its own. You may need to examine each Windows program to make sure the file size is the same as a known good file. The only safe way is to delete everything and start over. You are fighting a virus built by a group of VERY smart people using knowledge accumulated over the last 10 years.
