This is a 2-yr old machine. 'Battery needs replacement' notice comes up regularly, but never needed to change a battery before.
Still it should run when plugged into adapter even w/no battery, right?
Screen is always black; when I press power, power light comes on for a few seconds, can hear it start to work, then light goes out and all is silent again. Have tried w/battery in and out while connected to adapter.
I will buy a new battery, but this may not be the solution and I'd hate to spend the money for nothing...
