Easy and useful alternative to Notepad++
there is no english version..Its all french....
I have been using TextPad for years, but I am being forced to switch, and that is because of lack of unicode support. They CLAIM to support unicode but it is not true. TextPad will read a UTF-8 file AS LONG AS it does not contain any characters outside of the 8-bit ascii range. If you file has a SINGLE character in it above 256, it will distort the file by replacing that character with something less than 256. I edit a lot of XML files produced by web applications that allow users to type in text. If one user pastes a text that includes one special character ... a smiley face, or a heart, or a note symbol ... you have a UTF-8 encoded text files that TextPad can not edit. What bothers me most is that they CLAIM to support unicode. I don't care too much about editing those parts of the text ... but it is critical that I can read a file with those character, and write it out, without it being distorted. Simply preserving the character above 256 would be fine, but TextPad will not do this.
i want text pad software but now not download properly
