Network cable unplugged

Hello,
I have a problem with network. When I plug a network loopback connector (the cable on connector is 1-3, 2-6) it doesn't work. On the shorcut or local area connection it allow the word "network cable unplugged. what can I do to get it plug?
Operating System : Windows 7 Professional 64 bit Licence.
System manufacturer : Sony Corporation
System model : VPCCW1CGX

Hi there,

Please explain stepwisely,you connect the cable what happens?when remove you get a message that the cable has been unplugged?more information is required also you connected to rj11 or rj45 port?
