You must first of all check if the motherboard can support this type of DDR1 ram. But i dont think that the DDR1 ram will be compatible as your motherboard might be set only for the DDR ram. For example, I am actually using a Packard Bell and as you know it's hardware is under a OEM license and I really dont think that it is compatible with it. Better use the same RAM as you have to avoid any problems
