More Help Needed

Hello,
Well, I am yet another 'victim'. Despite me being aged 20, I know nothing about computers. I've tried Windows Defender and that came up with no viruses.... System Security Firewall Alert keeps coming up. It's annoying.
I am on my last hope with McAfee SecurityCenter [is that safe, by the way?] and it is scanning for viruses. It's taken half an hour already. Can someone please explain to me in non-computer jargon? [I mean that with all fairness]

what does the Firewall alert says?
McAfee is a trused anti-virus!
it is doing a full scan of your computer, that's why it is taking so much time! you can set to which parts of your computer you want it to scan by going in its menu, thus it will take less time!
