Cannot use adobe player 10.2

Hello,

I have been trying unsuccessfully to download the new Adobe player required by YOUTUBE for a while now. I follow all the necessary steps & it seems to go ok but once I try to view a video it again prompts me to download the new Adobe. Very thick when it comes to technology so would appreciate any help out there.
