My mp3 is not starting

Hello,
I have been using a rechargeble mp3 player for sometime now. I connected it to a friends computer and I suspected it has been infected with a virus. The problem is that, when I switch it on it indicate on the screen starting but it never starts. Also, when I connect it to computers, it request for either installation CD or connection to the internet to download drivers. When I connect to the net, the drivers colud not be downloaded and with the CD, it could also not be found. Please help me to get it working
