Dvd player not reading dvd.

Hello, dude.. my dvd player is only reading cd's not dvd's.. and even only some cd's not all of em.. can anyone help me..how can i get through this problem..??? operating system is windows 7 ultimate.. laptop- compaq-620... help plzzz..????

Hello,

Try this 1

1) First check if it is able to read other branded DVD's.

2) Try cleaning the drive lens. Click on the below link and follow the instructions.

3) Update the firmware.

can't i clean my lense with any other thing.. inspite of dat lense cleaner.. any other equipment which can be helpful... i dont hv lense cleaner..??

Hello,
That's the best way rather than opening your drive to clean the lens which involves lot of risk.
