Hi,
I have to uninstall Java and re-install it again, so I go to Control Panel>Programs>Uninstall.
Now when I click "uninstall": Admin password is requested, then a window appears saying Windows is configuring Java, and after that nothing happens. The program is still there, no matter how many times I do this and restart my computer.
Can someone help?
Thank you :)

(My computer is an Asus X53S by the way)

Hi Cory13,

As you mentioned you are prompted to enter the Administrator password when you uninstall, it indicates some User Access Control might be preventing it from uninstall. Ensure you are logged in as an Administrator and then try to uninstall.

Hi, thanks for answering,
Unfortunately this isn't working either, password is no longer requested but still nothing happens :/
I'd like to avoid installing any cleaning softwares, is it possible to solve the problem without them?

Hi Cory13,

Try booting into the Safe Mode and then try to uninstall Java, this way you avoid any chance of startup items or services blocking its uninstall.

Hi there,
I tried doing that, when I click 'uninstall' in safe mode a window pops up saying there is a problem with Windows Installer... But when I try with any other program, it works just fine. What to do? :/
Thanks and sorry to bother you ^^'

Hello,
Since my computer is french I can only provide an approximate translation, sorry.
"Impossible d'accéder au service Windows Installer. Ceci peut se produire si le programme d'installation de Windows n'est pas bien installé. Contactez votre support technique pour assistance." which is translated as follows:

"Unable to access Windows Installer service. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your technical support for assistance."

Thank you for helping me again :)

Hi Cory13,

Thanks to Google translation, I translated your error message and it comes as:

"Can not access the Windows Installer service. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance."

This is a known problem in Windows 7, try the steps in the below mentioned link and then try to uninstall Java:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2642495/the-windows-installer-service-could-not-be-accessed-error-when-you-try

Hi and thank you,
I followed method 1 but when I right-click the file on my desktop, "Run as administrator" doesn't appear. So I tried all the other methods and none worked...

Hi Cory13,

Thank you for trying these steps. As these steps don't work, it is probably a problem with the System Files of the Windows Operating System or a Virus/Spyware/Malware causing problems with your computer. Try running SFC (System File Checker) utility in your computer. You can find steps on how to run this utility from the below mentioned link:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929833/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system

If this utility gives no results or it doesn't run, try to run a Virus Scan on your computer using any Anti-Virus Utility.

Do reply with the results.
