What is PunkBuster in COD1?

Hello, could someone nice pleae explain me what is punkbuster? i can see that some servers need it. so i need to know what is it what does it do etc...:) thanks.

Hiya!~~~ :) I play FEAR alot and it also uses punkbuster , which is a anti-cheat/hacker program imbedded in the game. Some servers will not allow you to play on them unless its enabled in the game setup for obvious reasons....they dont want hacs in there , sadly tho many hackers can get around it and use cheats anyway. Hope this helps.

oh thanks a lot! so its like in counter-strike VAC-secure? :D jos its just a program to stop the cheaters to get in there?
