I currently own a HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop. IT came preloaded with win vista.....Last year I upgraded it myself to win 7.. Everything was fine except that the 1GB Nvidia Graphics card which came as default with the laptop was not recognized by the OS..
I searched the net and found that the driver for the graphics card was sp34636(which i am not sure) ..So I downloaded the driver and installed it and it showed a error stating that " the driver and its components are compatible only with vista 32/64 bit".
I was not able to play any game including the preloaded win 7 games(inbuilt games they were slow and the graphics was pathetic). So i torrented a vista 32 bit and installed it....

Now i tried to install the sp34636 driver..This time it showed a new error "the nvidia setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. setup will now exit"
As i lost the warranty number i couldn't get any online assistance from HP.....Please say what i should do to get my graphics card back........
I would seriously thank everybody who is trying to solve my problem

Hello,

Try this 1

Go to your manufacture's website --> Download the "Chipset" and "VGA" drivers.

Install the "Chipset" drivers first and then install the "VGA" drivers.

Good Luck

Hello,
Try this 1
Instead of searching only for the VGA driver, search for the entire drivers for your laptop.
OR
Let me know your laptop complete model number.
Example : HP Pavilion dv6000 CTO Notebook
Good Luck
