It should completely do it for you.. When I put my PS3 to the internet i put in the Ethernet cable, Went into the internet options and it set up and assigned it all for me..You must be choosing the wrong options in there.
Try again and post up all the steps and the options and tell me where it goes wrong

OK.. I have hooked the ethernet cable up to my PS3.. now i am at the network settings, and it is telling me to choose wireless or wired connection.. so which one is the best choice

ok i picked wired.. now it is bringing me to the ip adress settings and it is giving me a choice of atomatic, manuel, or PPPOE. Which one should I choose
