Hi Uma Shankar,
The steps to change the SATA operations are different for different make of motherboards. Please reply with the exact System Model Number of your computer or the Model Number of the Motherboard in your computer.

Hello to both of you,
If may put my 2 cents worth.
Here is a method that worked for others:
1. On start up, press F2 to enter BIOS
2. Expand the "Drives" section
3. Go to "SATA Operation"
4. Change this from "RAID Auto/AHCI" to "RAID Auto/ATA"
Good luck

Hi shasha7274,
In addition to what Ambucias has suggested, with permission I would like to add this useful tip. Please refer to the Service Manual of your laptop and try to restore the BIOS defaults and check if the options are available. If the option is still not available, please ensure that the Hard Drive is detected in the BIOS. In case, the Hard Drive is not shown in the BIOS, take a technician's help and try to re-seat the Hard Drive connections and then retry again.
