My laptop's dvd rw is working but not read dvds

Hi
my laptop's dvd rw is working properly and read dvd And cd's with Other laptop's
but in my laptop not read dvd and cd's And Don;t boot the bootable dvd ,cd's!
please help me:X
My laptop is Hp Compaq presario f500

Ok, so let me make certain that I understand...

You have taken the CD/DVD ROM out of your machine, and put it into another machine, then booted and that works fine.....but when you take the same CD/DVD and put it into the HPC COMPAQ F500, it no longer works? Is that Correct?

Does the DVD/CD from the other one work in it? If no other device works in that port, then it is bad....

in Computer managment>Disk managment just show volume DVD and Cd's

Please understand, I will not visit your link for viewing your JPG. Once again, if no device will work in that port, then take it apart, and make sure the jumper cable from MB to PORT has not been disconnected. It is a physical problem, if you have updated your drives for the HP.
