VLC problem

Hello, I am having problem in playing video files in VLC media player when I download them from Youtube from internet download manager.The videos are playing in other players but not in VLC. These files have .FLV and .MKV format can anyone please solve this.

You must convert the files to the proper format with the appropriate software.
