Hello, i am trying to set up a monitor via D-Sub connection and whenever I plug it in it says no signal. The odd thing is is that my d sub port isn't on my graphics card, it is in the place where you plug in ur USB and ur ethernet cord, not sure what to call it.

It appears that you have "on-board" graphics on the motherboard. hence the socket mounted on the motherboard.

But, the on-board graphics port(s) are turned off when you add a video card. To use a VGA connected monitor you must use an adapter that plugs into you video card.

Good Luck
