Dell Dimension 3000 + Maxtor 3200 HD

Hello, My dell dimension 300 will not go past black bios says drive 0 seek failure???screen when i plug in maxtor 3200 HD when i unplug it it will continue then to boot windows fine.. green light is solid on HD no grinding clicking or anything odd....the device manager is showing yellow exclamation point on the USB mass storage ive uninstalled it and reinstalled it to no avail.....running sp2 not 3... when i start comp and load windows and plug the maxtor in it shows up in hardware by a "ding" sound so i know its got to be recognizing it... i need the info on this drive desperately any suggestions? some say new power supply. its showing a code 10 which maxtor says drive failure REPLACE but i dont think thats an option at this point... any suggestions maybe bio or drives not setup properly? i am at wits end on this issue and no answers that work? foreman1172@mchsi.com is my email for any suggestions
