Will all laptops work from mains withoutbattery? Mines a Toshiba, 10 yr old.
Wont charge on occasions.
If charging cable and adaptor/transformer are ok should transformer be warm?
If not cable must bebattery - correct?

10 years out of a battery, you did well. It is the battery, almost 100% certain. Find a replacement!
