Apple Watch Series 10: A Low-Key 10th Anniversary Celebration
Apple is marking 10 years of its smartwatch with their latest release, but don't expect a major overhaul.
The Apple Watch Series 10 kicked off Apple's fall keynote, a familiar move from Tim Cook since the original Apple Watch debuted a decade ago. However, instead of a big celebration, Apple is rolling out the latest model with its usual updates and a few new features, but nothing revolutionary.
The Apple Watch Series 10 brings subtle updates, including a new sleep apnea detection feature with the design remaining unmistakably Apple, with a refreshed look and an upgraded display.
One of the most noticeable upgrades is the display. The Series 10 features a larger screen, even bigger than the Apple Watch Ultra 2. It now comes with a new Wide Angle OLED display, offering perfect visibility from any angle. The brightness reaches 2000 nits (just like the Ultra 2), with a low setting of 1 nit for nighttime use.
Even with this larger screen, the Series 10 is thinner than previous models, measuring 9.6mm, nearly a millimeter slimmer than the Series 9. Apple has also dropped stainless steel in favor of aluminum, with a sleek black finish, as well as a titanium case option.
Apple Watch Series 10: Health and Fitness Focus
Under the hood, the Series 10 runs on Apple's new S10 processor, which includes four neural cores to boost Siri's performance and other functions. It also adds sleep apnea detection, a feature awaiting approval in some regions.
For fitness enthusiasts, the watch now supports snorkeling, providing water temperature, wave intensity, and depth sensor readings.
Apple Watch Ultra: Minor Refresh
Last year, Apple introduced the Apple Watch Ultra 2, a modest update to the original Ultra. This year's changes are even smaller. The Ultra 2 stays in the lineup, now available in a sleek black titanium finish with matching bands.
Apple Watch Series 10: Pricing and Availability
