It depends, if you download from suspicious site, the game might have trojan or anything like this, so but if you are asking literally about the actual game harm, then yes and no. If your computer is slow, then the game might slow it down, but if it is powerful and new, it shouldn't harm..

I think games can overheat certain parts of your pc, especially if your cooling is off or rather weak compared to your graphics card n such. Look more into it because there certainly are nuances to the whole ordeal!
