why i find it hard to download and install apps in my device. Downloaded apps am informed they can harm my computer therefore being advised to discard them.

Google Store apps will only work on Android devices such as smartphones and tablets, they are not for computers. If you wish apps for your laptop, you should look for apps for pc, for instance WhatsApp for PC, Snapchat for PC etc.

that what i have tried with you tube as an app and immediately the download is complete am told the file can harm my computer and therefore should discard it.

Yes, you must discard. You need not an app for YouTube, you can reach YouTube on your browser.
