How to set the default font of WordPad

I cannot begin to count the time I have wasted trying to get the font and size changed! Among MANY other things, Microsoft needs to learn that not everyone has 20-20 vision and can easily work in 10-point type.
One item. It is necessary to start over and click file open then find and right click on your just saved WordPad file. Now you may check the read only box and save your WordPad file again.
That is just a bit of micro housekeeping.
Again, thank you ALL for making something on this piece of garbage they call windows 10 actually function!
1 more thing...have any of YOU tried putting your name in that box & submitting it? It seems all 26 letters are "special characters" My username is Uncle Al. YOU try to submit it.
