why cant i delete my history?????Closed

Hello, 
i was ust casually deleting my search history then i refreshed the page and its still there? Ive tried both ways of deleting my chrome history but its not going!! then i saw this weird small metal screw bar in my pcs sound!!!! Please help me i just wanna delete my search history! 


System Configuration: Windows / Chrome 71.0.3578.98

Open Chrome and type: chrome://settings/

Look for "Clear browsing data".  Click and clear what you wish.

Why cant i delete my history?????
