Toshiba px1399E-2G20 problem with Mac

Hey,
i just got a toshiba px1399E-2G20 external hard drive today and have but many gb's worth of files on to it, after converting it to NTFS but i also want to use it on my macbook (i thought i could use some simple software to get over any formatting problems.) The problem is that my macbook does not detect that it is connected because Toshiba only install plug and play for Windows (and apparently Linux, which, until today, i was unaware of it's existence.)
In desperate need of some help

Dear Sir,

Some external hard drive are compatible with windows only,

I will advise you to check the manual for more information
