Bios, Sata To ide

Hello,
Sorry guys i need to get in the bios on win vista so i can change from sata to ide i really can't work out how you get too it if you can put it as simple as possible would really be a help cheers guys
p.s if bios is the bit on boot up there is not a sata mode there???


ive updated my bios and on my boot list i have something like
1. sata
2. ide 1
3. ide 0
4. dvd
etc

hi,
BIOS is your Basic Input Output Settings.
yes, its the junk at the start.

when powering on hit F2 or DEL to enter the BIOS.

so if i put ide 1 and 0 first and sata somewere below that that would work?

In theory yes.
you should also check the boot order within the BIOS to make sure whatever it is you want to boot from is 1st.

depending on what is on IDE0 + 1 (you could have CD/DVD ROM on either channel. check which channel is on which. for more advanced technicians these ports are labelled on the motherboard. normally as 1 or 2. put the one you want to boot from as the 1. or 1st boot device.

turn on the computer then quickly press F2 to enter bios mode.
at bios mode, on "main" area, choose "sata mode" then change from "AHCI" to "IDE"
