You should install the driver of the webcam first of all and then plug in your webcam, it should work!

Hi :)

I think that installing something like "cheese" (just takes still pictures i think) should drag in all the dependencies for getting at least some functionality for the cam. I would open the package manager and use the search feature to look for relevant libraries/programs/packages.

Also it might be worth asking this question in the Fedora forums
https://forums.fedoraforum.org/

and also these general linux forums

http://www.linuxforums.org/
http://www.linuxquestions.org

Also it looks like you are using an old version of firefox and possibly an old version of Fedora too? I might be wary of upgrading Fedora - it might be better to install the latest version as part of a dual/multi-boot and then gradually install all the things you need to that. That way you could keep using the existing working Fedora without risking breaking it.

I think that using Pidgin or a different native linux instant messenger might be better than trying to use MSN because then you are likely to get better integration between the camera and the IM Client

Also the linux ones aren't restricted to just one protocol. For example it wouldn't be restricted to just people using MSN at the other end so you coud chat to Yahoo and other folks too.

The main forums at Fedora should be able to offer better help tho
Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
