Cd drive i cant find

Hello,
my name is chris i have put a hardrive in and that works fine. i put the power lead in the cd drive and you can hear the drive spin. after i put the lead that transfers the data to the motherboard ( not good with computers) and it cuts the poer to the drive, can anyone help.

can you give details what you want

what you did

and what are the expected results

explain it well even you don't know computers

just describe the actions you did from start
