Hi,
If the hard disk is reading or writing data, then it is normal that the light blinks frequently. If it is not used, then I recommend you to run a disk check.
To run a disk check, start Command Prompt with admin rights and type the following:
Press Enter to start the process. Note: Replace d: by the letter of your external hard drive.
The above command will try to fix errors on the disk and locate the bad sectors and try to recover readable information.

Do you know why LED light blinks in any hard drive? The activity light in the hard drive blinks whenever the drive reads or writes anything. This is the reason why it is always suggested to eject your drive instead of pulling it out from your system. As in your case if your hard drive is working fine but blinking then there is nothing to worry about. Your drive is absolutely fine.
