Need ethernet controller for acer4720z

Hello,
My acer 4720Z crashed, I installed a new hard drive and windows 2000 since that was all I had. Now many drives are missing including the ethernet controller. I have tried the downloads from acer but they are not working. I am assuming this is because I have windows 2000 and they have only vista & windows XP. Also does anyone know how to remove the windows 2000? I want to install windows XP and it won't let me.

Hello Sir,

This laptop is designed for Windows XP and Vista,

You will have to use the Windows XP installation disc to format the hard drive and installa a fresh windows XP system on the laptop

I will advise you to contact a qualified technician to do this
