Hello,
Can you help? I am using XP pro validated and also a copy of office small business. The validation states that there is a copy of office XP 2002 still installed on my pc which does not pass validation. I worked for a big company years ago before retirement and had office XP 2002 installed but on leaving it was removed and I purchased office 2002 small business and installed it. No problem for years but now the validation states office 2002 is still installed and needs to be removed before my office small business programs can be validated. I cannot find where there might be any residuals of office 2002 causing this result. any help would be good. walke40.

do you still have the disks for the office 2002small buisiness edition?

if so, you can uninstall the program.(saving all your documents first)

using a program like crap cleaner, http://www.ccleaner.com/download

running the registry cleaner, it will clean out all registry keys that are not used anymore.

there is also an eraser program from microsoft to remove remnants of office 2002
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/239938

try that, then reinstall your copy of office.

Hi Sharpman. Thanks for your reply. I have tried uninstalling my office small business and borrowed a copy of office XP with key code to reinstall and then remove but the same rusult happened on reinstalling my office business copy. I will do the same again but use the crap cleaner and also give the Microsoft a stab as well. If that fails it maybe a collect of documents and a format do you think. I cannot see why the pc has run faultlessly for many years and then this happens as the validation program has been present for a long time now. Thanks again for your help and advise, I will keep you up to speed with the outcome. Walke40.
