Can't install avg

Hello,
I am trying to download the 30day free trial of AVG internet security. It keeps telling me that there is another antivirus program running on this computer, but I uninstalled it. This computer is 4 years old and I've had three different antivirus programs installed on here. I always uninstalled them before using a new one, but could it be that one of them is not completly uninstalled? How do I figure this out?
I always uninstall from add and remove programs. OS is XP. HELP anyone?

hi there,

you must use an uninstaller to completely

remove the programs with no traces left
