If you are unwilling to uninstall and reinstall the OS, you will have to get the file that you are being indicated to be lost.
Yet it might malfunction for you will be unable to know where the particular file was located.
There can eventually some more system files that will be missing.
It will be better to format your PC.
If you have some important files on your PC, you can make a back up and get it back even if you format your PC.
This is the most advisable method for your PC to work properly.
