Cant play burnt dvd rws

Hello,
Im new to downloading and burning dvds, I have downloaded a torrent saved the file. Installed Nero 6 and burnt to a dvd rw, which says it has completed but my dvd player wont play it or my PS3.
Any ideas on what im doing wrong ???, any help much appreciated.

Dear Foxy,
While burning a CD, you are normally indicated that the processs has been completed but there are many users
who immediately remove the burnt cd. The program automatically ejects the tray when finishing the process.
If you had removed the CD before that it automatically ejected the tray, this will mean that the process had not
finished.

hi there,
the downloaded file must be in iso or image
if it is compressed or zipped
extract the file then burn to a dvd
