Memory Card wont format mp3 songs.

Hello,
im jeff nd i got this new phone with a memory card. i tried copying music from my PC to my memory card. it will get on there but wont play any songs. its because the format is .wmp and i need to it to .mp3 is there ayway i can get some help with it so i can get my songs to mp3 format for my phone????
