Computer will not stay on

Hello, i have a dell inspiron 1525. My computer will not stay on unless my power cord is plugged in. I purchased a new battery. however, that did not fix the problem. i have a battery icon and it says my battery is 52% charged and my power cord is plugged in but not charging.
As soon as iunplug the cord it shuts off!!! please help..

Dear Katy,

This could actually be a problem coming up from the Power Supplying Unit.

You should send it for repair in order to have the matter solved.
