My Acer Aspire5535 keybrd an mouse wont work?

Hello,
I recently took apart my Acer Aspire series 5535-5235 notebook to removes a piece from my head phones the broke off in the connection. When I put everything back together the notebook turned on no problem and my usual sign in on my monitor came came on normally, How ever my keyboard and mouse I am unable to get to work, so have not been able to sign in and see if the rest works? Any suggestions what could be causeing the keyboard an mouse not work?
